Jerseycity Spanish Academy Mission

Jersey City Spanish Academy

Jersey City is situated on the bank of the Hudson River, just across the waterway from lower Manhattan. The United States Census in the year 2000 registered 240,055 citizens, and an impressive Hispanic/Latino population of over 28%. This thriving community is alive with programs of culture, art, and exciting festivals to be shared by all.

The Annual Bolivian Parade, the National Puerto Rican Day Parade, and the month long Hispanic Heritage Festival demonstrate the strong Spanish language base and the advantage of being bilingual in this city. Add to these festivals the wide array of music, art, and dining options and it’s easy to see why speaking Spanish would add to the pleasure and enjoyment of residents.

Do you have a particular reason why you feel its important for the children of Jersey City to learn to speak Spanish? Share your thoughts and ideas on the form to the right.
